Quick Start |
In this chapter we will give you a quick start, so you hear your first drumloop within two or three minutes. After you've installed RM 2 as described in the previous chapter and started your host software take this 6 steps:

1. At first enter some notes into you host software or use an existing drum track. If you use the drum editor of Cubase 5 it'll look like this. |
2. After entering the notes assign the MIDI track to RM 2. When using Cubase 5 It'll look like this. The important setting is the output assignment to RM2. If RM 2 is not offered here, load it first (Menu Panels / VST Instruments). | ![]() |

3. Then open the RM 2 Edit window and click on the sample display. A file dialog will open. Now choose a sample to load. Note that you may load WAV and AIFF samples. |
4. After you have loaded the sample check if the trigger key is corresponding to the notes you entered in the first step. Key 36 (Note C1) is exactly what is triggered by the first line of the Cubase drum editor. All successive lines represent key 37, 38 and so on. | ![]() |

5. Finally check if the instrument channel of RM2 matches the channel selected when assigning MIDI to RM2 in the second step. In our example we choose channel 10 in both cases. |
6. Start the sequence and enjoy playback of your first drumloop with RM 2! | ![]() |
